Eotyrannus is the newest dinosaur to be discovered and named from the Isle of Wight. It is thought to be the oldest ancestor of Tyrannosaurus Rex because of similarities in their skeletons. The skull of Eotyrannus has nasal bone that are joined together just like Tyrannosaurus. However Eotyrannus is a small- medium sized predator about 75% smaller than its descendant. There is a gap of around 40 million years between Eotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus; so they would never have met each other. With long legs for running, Eotyrannus could have caught most prey. |
